My paintings reflect the life of a US citizen (me) with an appreciation for the world of the early twenty-first century. To the extent that the world is threatened by war and environmental degradation, I am threatened. Yet, this world in all its dimensions remains a place of inexplicable beauty and wonder. Most of the time, I go about my business pursuing my trivial concerns, traveling to and from work, thinking, daydreaming, and living my life. I am just one of billions, with mundane hopes, expectations, and fears. But at the same time, I am unique as we all are. I can share my deeply personal private existence with anyone who will look at my paintings, and see the universality that links all of us, as different as we are. |
